HyperActive Fantasy Football League Rules

If you need to contact us about any league matters, please email us at HyperActiveLeagues@hotmail.com or go to “Communications/Email to the commissioner” on your MFL league site.  Please include a link to your league as well as a description of the issue so we can check on the issue and resolve it in a timely manner.

League Configuration

  • HyperActive Dynasty FFL will consist of one 12 team conference, with no divisions.
  • Since this is a dynasty league, all players will be kept until the owner involves that player in a transaction, either a trade or a drop/add.

Annual Fees

  • If you are in a $50 or $100 league you can send a check or make a wire transfer (this option will be available at a later date) or send the money via PayPal to HyperActiveLeagues@hotmail.com
  • The annual fees will be due no later than January 31st. Trade rights will not be reinstated until the fees have been paid for the upcoming season.
  • League fees vary depending on the league chosen ($50, $100, $250, $500, $750 or $1,000).
  • For the inaugural season, entry fees are due on the date specified when the league is formed.

Rosters

  • Each owner will carry a maximum of 25 players and a minimum of eight (8) players at all times.
  • The minimum number of players at each position is one at each position.
  • A player’s position is determined by the league website (currently MFL). He can only be started in slots reserved for his position as defined by the league website.

Starting Lineups

  • All starting lineups will consist of each of the following:
    • 1 Quarterback
    • 1 Running Back
    • 1 Wide Receiver
    • 1 Tight End
    • 4 Flex (RB, WR, TE)
  • Players are locked at the kickoff of their game. An owner may change the starting lineup status for a player whose game has not yet started.
  • Our leagues will not use any team defenses or kickers.
  • The starting lineup can not include any players on a bye week or skill position players listed as out or inactive according to the league’s final injury report prior to game day. All owners should choose the option to receive emails detailing the injury status for their players.
  • 2 illegal lineups will result in removal from the league.  Refunds will not be given to people who are removed from the league due to rules violations.  When joining our leagues you are agreeing to manage your team(s) to the best of your ability and that includes setting your best starting lineup every week.

Schedule

  • The regular season will last from week 1 of the NFL season until week 13 of the NFL season.
  • Each team plays every other team in its conference one (1) time during the regular season. The two additional games of the regular season will be played against a random conference opponent, chosen by the scheduling software.
  • The week begins with the first NFL kickoff and ends with the kickoff of the following week. Therefore, some weeks are longer than others.

Playoffs

  • The regular season will end after week 13 and the playoffs will begin in week 14.
  • The playoffs will include 6 teams.
  • The conference winner will advance to the playoffs as the top seed.
  • Teams finishing 2nd through 5th will be seeded accordingly. Tiebreakers will be used, if necessary.
  • The final playoff spot will go to the highest scoring team among the remaining teams. This team will be seeded 6th.
  • Week 14 will see match-ups between the 3 and 6 seeds and the 4 and 5 seeds. Seeds 1 and 2 will receive first round byes. In week 15 the #1 seed will play the lowest remaining seed in each conference. The #2 seed will play the other remaining team in the conference semifinals.
  • Week 16 will match-up the two remaining teams in the HyperActive Super Bowl.

Toilet Bowl

  • The six teams that do not advance to the playoffs in each conference will participate in the Toilet Bowl playoffs.
  • The teams in the Toilet Bowl series will be seeded one through six based on overall record, with the number one seed going to the team with the worst record. Tiebreakers will be used if necessary.
  • The top two seeds will receive a first round bye.
  • The Toilet Bowl champion will receive a compensatory pick between rounds one and two.
  • The compensatory pick will be a tradable commodity.

Tie Breakers

  • During the regular season and playoffs, each team will select a RB to act as a tie-breaker.
  • During the playoffs, if there is still a tie at that point, the points of the starting quarterback will be used to break the tie. This process will continue using the top scoring starting player at other positions (Wide Receiver, Tight End) until the tie is broken.
  • In the event of a tie for a playoff spot, the following tiebreakers will be used:
    • Overall winning percentage
    • Total points
    • Head to head record for common opponents
    • Division winner percentage
    • Power rank
    • Reverse order of opponents total points scored

Rookie Draft

  • The 4 round rookie draft will be held soon after the NFL draft each spring.
  • A specific date will be announced and agreed upon prior to the draft.
  • The rookie draft will be non-serpentine.
  • Rookies and veterans are eligible to be drafted.
  • The rookie draft will use an 8 hour clock for each pick. The draft clock will be turned off at 11:00 p.m. eastern and will be started again at 8:00 a.m. eastern.
  • An owner may use all or none of their picks. Once an owner has decided not to use any further picks, please post that information on the message board and notify the commissioner. This will allow the pick to be skipped in a timely manner.
  • In order to make a draft pick, an owner must make space on his roster for that player. Assuming each owner is carrying the full 24-man roster, one player will have to be dropped for each player drafted. If an owner is below the 24-man roster, additional players will not be required to be dropped.
  • Waivers and free agency will be closed during the draft. Owners will have the ability to drop players during the draft.
  • If an owner’s pick is skipped, that owner should contact the commissioner with his pick as soon as possible. The commissioner will then process the transaction. An owner also may post the desired pick on the message board for all to see, but the pick will not become official until the commissioner processes the transaction.
  • Once the final pick in the draft has been made, no other picks can be made or traded, even if picks have been missed.
  • The draft order will be determined by both the playoffs and the regular season standings. The Super Bowl champion will pick last in each round (1.12). The remainder of the teams will pick according to final regular season standings and playoff seeding. Tiebreakers (section 8) will be used if necessary.
  • Once a draft pick is made, that pick is final and official.
  • Trading of draft picks will be allowed up to one year in advance. Any trading of first round draft picks will be processed immediately, as all trades are, but will require the owner trading the draft pick to pay a 50% down payment for the next year’s league fee.
  • If payment is not received by the commissioner within one week of a trade involving draft picks, the trade will be rescinded. This could affect game scores. If involved players are removed from a starting lineup, they will not be replaced and the lineup will not be acceptable, resulting in an illegal lineup and subsequent fine.
  • If a trade is made during the draft and involves current year draft picks, the clock will be turned off until the trade issue is resolved.
  • Waivers and free agency will be closed during the draft. Owners will still have the ability to drop players in order to make their draft selection.

Startup Draft

  • Startup draft picks may be traded.
  • A 12-hour time clock will be used during the startup draft.
  • The startup draft will be serpentine.
  • Teams are not required to draft a full roster in the startup draft.
  • Once a draft pick is made, that pick is final and official.
  • If a trade is made during the draft and involves current year draft picks, the clock will be turned off until the trade issue is resolved.

Trades

  • All trades are executed upon acceptance by both owners involved on the league website.
  • The trade deadline will occur at the kickoff of the week 11 NFL games.
  • Off-season trading is allowed, once each team has paid the league fees for the following year. Off-season trading can begin as early as directly after the HyperActive Super Bowl. It will officially begin on February 28 at the latest. This is the date for all league fees to be paid.
  • At the conclusion of each trade, each roster must not exceed 24 players.
  • If at least two owners think a deal is unfair, they have 48 hours to bring that to the attention of the commissioner. The commissioner will then make a decision regarding the validity of the trade.
  • Owners are encouraged to post on the league message board in order to explain and discuss any recent trades.

Waivers

  • Waivers will be decided using a blind bidding system.
  • Each owner will be given $1,000 of fantasy money to bid on players through the waiver wire system.
  • Each owner will receive their $1,000 when their league dues have been paid for the upcoming season.
  • During the NFL regular season, bids can be placed on free agents following the conclusion of the Monday Night Football game until Wednesday, 10 p.m. eastern.
  • After waivers are processed using the blind bidding system, waivers will then be first come, first serve until kickoff of the first game of that week.
  • Waivers will run through the playoffs for all teams, including those not advancing to the playoffs.
  • Off season waivers will be determined using the blind bid system. Bids will be accepted each week starting on Monday at 12 am and ending on Friday at 10 pm eastern. After waivers have been processed using the blind bid system, waivers will be first come, first serve during the weekend.
  • Waivers and free agency will be closed during the draft. Owners will still have the ability to drop players in order to make their draft selection.
  • If a player is dropped accidentally, that owner has one hour to contact the commissioner in order to reverse the transaction. Commissioner will use best judgment to resolve this situation.

Activity Rules

  • Since this is the HyperActive Dynasty FFL, all owners are expected to be active year round.
  • Owners should check in to the site at least once every two (2) weeks during the off-season.
  • Owners should check in at least once every three (3) days during the regular season.
  • Owners should check in at least once a day during the rookie draft.
  • Owners should vote in each poll on the league website.
  • Owners should participate in league discussion through email and/or league message board.
  • Owners should respond to all trade offers in a timely manner. Any trade offers that go without response for one week’s time should be reported to the commissioner.
  • All owners should select the option to receive an email notification of a trade offer.
  • Please post in the official “Away from site” thread when you will be away for a period of time that exceeds rules b), c), and d). As long as an owner has posted in this thread, he will not be in violation of these rules.
  • Owners who are consistently in violation of any league rules may be removed from the league at the discretion of the commissioner.
  • If an owner is removed from the league for any violation of league rules or by his own choice, the commissioner will take charge of that team until a replacement owner is found and approved.
  • The commissioner will not perform any transactions on behalf of the abandoned team and the lineup will be entered based on the 4for4.com cheat sheet for that week.

Tanking

  • Tanking, in any form, will not be tolerated in this league.
  • Starting lineups should be submitted as complete and in the best interest of that team. If an owner is accused of not submitting his best lineup, the commissioner will make a ruling.
  • If an owner is found guilty of tanking, he will be removed from the league immediately.
  • If an owner is removed during the season, there will be no refund of league fees.
  • Any opening during the season will be filled as soon as possible with a new owner.
  • If no new owner can be found at that time, the commissioner will manage the team by submitting the optimal weekly lineup, according to 4for4.com weekly rankings.

Orphaned Teams

  • At the conclusion of the fantasy season, any owner planning to leave the league should notify the commissioner as soon as possible.
  • The commissioner will fill any orphaned teams with new owners
  • If there are multiple orphaned teams in the league, the commissioner will host a dispersal draft. All new owners will participate and will choose from players and picks owned by the previously orphaned teams.

Expected Owner Conduct

  • All owners are expected to carry themselves in a professional manner that would not harm other owners or the league in general. Bragging and “trash talk” is an expected and interesting part of the game, but should be handled in adult fashion. The commissioner will draw the line between comments made in good fun and inflammatory comments that could harm the good of the league.
  • The use of foul language and/or indecent pictures will not be allowed on the HyperActive league site. Violation of this could result in loss of message board privileges. Repeated violations will result in removal from the league.

Commissioner

  • Our goal is to have a fair, balanced league consisting of highly active and competitive owners.
  • The commissioner will act in the best interest of the league at all times.
  • The commissioner accepts the following responsibilities:
    • Interpret and enforce rules.
    • Settle all disputes between owners.
    • Preside over draft and perform waiver activity.

Miscellaneous

  • Each owner may only control one team in the league.
